There are few things that can upstage the most prominent MLB players, but their four-legged furry friends often do. After Los Angeles Dodgers' newest star Shohei Ohtani recently reached a shocking record-breaking $700 million, 10-year deal, the biggest question on everyone's mind was, "What is the name of his dog?"
During Ohtani's initial press conference with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Ohtani disclosed that his Dutch Kooikerhondje dog’s American name is Decoy. Decoy was first spotted with Ohtani in his acceptance speech after winning the 2023 American League Most Valuable Player, making him the first player to earn two unanimous MVP Awards.
This is not the first time that dogs have stolen the spotlight from their famous owners, putting their humans on the back burner. Here are some of MLB's most marvelous dogs who have been in the limelight before.
